Essentials

When planning a party, you may get caught up with the exciting aspect of renting out new items and the activities to keep your guests entertained. However, in order to plan a well functioning event you will need all the essentials to keep it running. Some essentials you will need to rent out include:

  • Plates – Make sure to plan accordingly with your meals. If your event will be serving appetizers, salad, dinner, and dessert then you will want to make sure to have the appropriate plate setting for each.
  • Glasses – Like the plates, you will want to make sure you have the right glass for each beverage like water, wine, beer, soda, and coffee. Some can be used double!
  • Silverware – Think about each course meal and what your guests will need.
  • Tables – How many guests will turn out to this event? Create a visual map of who will sit where and how many tables you’ll need to make that happen. Also take into consideration any extra tables for presents, cake, snacks, and so on.
  • Chairs – Where will your guests sit if you don’t have enough chairs for each of them? Make sure to count those RSVP’s!
  • Theme Decor – Every party events has a theme and you’ll want to decorate accordingly. Is it an 80s themed party? Boho style? Great Gatsby? The themes are endless!

Other non-rental items that should be kept in mind are:

  • Ice
  • Paper Towels
  • Garbage Bags
  • Extra Toilet Paper
  • If Grilling; charcoal, lighter fuel, and check tank

Note It.

After the celebration has ended and all of your hard work of planning an event has been put to the test. Then, it is a good idea to record in a journal how much was left over and what people enjoyed the most. Recording this will help you in the future when you plan your next gathering. Think of your party journal as a reference to look back on when you are trying to remember your aunt’s favorite drink. That way you can have it at the next celebration.
